I was a lucky winner of a cookbook giveaway from Kristen @ Swanky Dietitian‘s blog. I was super excited to win this cookbook.
This cookbook was written by Nicole Morrissey @ Prevention RD. As a (soon to be… 2 weeks left of my dietetic internship!!) Registered Dietitian, I support all the other dietitian bloggers out there. I have been following Prevention RD blog for a long time and have made many of her delicious recipes. Some of my all time favorite recipes from her blog include:
Zucchini, Carrot, Apple Bread with Pecans + Chocolate Chips
Crab Cakes with Spicy Remoulade
Crunchy Wheat Berry Salad with Cranberries and Goat Cheese
Pumpkin Cupcakes with Nutella Frosting
Everyday Healthy Cooking:
100 Light and Delicious Recipes
to Promote Energy, Weight Loss, and Well-Being
- Eat More of These
- In a Bowl
- From Land and Sea
- Meat-Free Mains
- Carb Lovers
- Finish It Off, Hold the Guilt
Love the terminology. It has a wide variety of recipes to choose from. All the bases are covered, so when hosting a get together, a dinner party, or just having some friends together to watch some football, there is a recipe to turn to.
All the recipes have little icons to indicate any dietary needs like:
- Gluten Free
- Heart Healthy/Low-Fat
- Quick Meals
- Diabetics/Carb Counters
I love this! Nutrition does not = one size fits all. This gives plenty of options for all different dietary needs. Also, the recipes provide substitutions for recipes to make them a certain dietary need if the original recipe does not include it.
The photography in the book is wonderful. All the recipe include pictures and they all look appetizing. I like how all the recipes are simple and do not require too many ingredients.
If you want a new cookbook added to your cookbook library, definitely grab yourself a copy! This cookbook will be used a lot in my kitchen!! Go here to get yourself a copy too!!
